Mission Statement:
Our purpose is to provide educational programs to assist others to achieve their maximum potential. We strive to create the opportunities for individuals and organizations to continue their journey towards excellence.
History:
In May of 1976 Quest Institute began. Sue and Robert Swab had the unique idea of beginning an educational organization that could empower people to become the best that they could be. They began this non-profit educational program with Jim Cremin as the president. Quest Institute provided: counseling, seminars, programs and classes for the public.
Part of the Quest Institute philosophy was providing to the people of Tulsa, Oklahoma, many nation wide experts in the field of personal growth and development. Quest Institute was a center for Dr. Tomas Gordon’s Effectiveness Training seminars. Quest offered: Parent Effectiveness Training, Teacher Effectiveness Training, Youth Effectiveness Training, and Leader Effectiveness Training.
The non-profit status of Quest Institute gave way to Jim Cremin Associates, Inc., a for profit organization in 1981. Jim Cremin Associates, Inc. provides the Jim Cremin Seminars to organizations all over the world.
Jim Cremin Associates, Inc. is a family organization. Jim Cremin is the president. Angela Cremin is the administrative assistant and seminar leader. Angela is the creator of our Diversity Training. Bernie Cremin is a writer for our programs and a specialized instructor in all of Dr. Tom Gordon’s Effectiveness Training seminars. Jacob Cremin is the creative artist that develops our booklets and brochures. We are a Family Affair!
Jim Cremin, President:
Jim has been delivering seminars to organizations all over the world since 1976. He has brought his unique style of seminar leadership to schools, hospitals, small companies, churches, Fortune 500 corporations, and youth groups.
Jim has educational degrees from Benedictine College, University of Tulsa, and San Diego State University. He began his career as a high school teacher/coach/counselor in Oklahoma and California schools. He was also a licensed California marriage and child counselor.
Jim is married to Edna. They have been married since 1960. They have eight children: Bernie, Jody, John, Frank, Angela, Jacob, Tom and Theresa. Besides the eight children, they have seven grandchildren.
Dr. Michael Abdo, Professor, LECTIO DIVINA
Dr. Michael Abdo was a Trappist monk for thirty-two years. During seventeen years of that period he served as abbot of his Monastery. In 1986 he left the monastic life and completed his studies for a masters in psychology. In 1987-1988 he was co-director of the Windstar Foundation. He presently has a counseling practice in the Aspen area. Michael's training and experience in counseling and doctoral training in religious studies enable him to concentrate not only on the integration of human feelings and emotions, but also, on the awakening and growth of the spiritual awareness in a person's life. In the LECTIO DIVINA workshop, he combines his rich experience in meditation and study in the monastery with his current practice as a psychotherapist.
Angela Cremin, Administrator:
Angela does more than create and present seminars for Jim Cremin Associates, Inc. She also teaches college courses at Oklahoma State University at Tulsa and Tulsa Community College. She specializes in women’s programs. Angela, like Bernie, presents all the Gordon Effectiveness Training seminars.
Bernie Cremin, Instructor:
When you think of teacher, you immediately imagine Bernie Cremin. Bernie has been teaching school for 10 years. He specializes in teaching in the Tulsa Public School’s alternative school. Bernie applies his Gordon model as his teaching method. He is able to teach those most educators have forgotten.
Jacob Cremin, Graphic Design:
Jacob is the creative artist for Jim Cremin Associates, Inc; He develops all the booklets, newsletter, brochures and promotion flyers. Jacob’s own company is Cremin Creations.
